VIRGINIA FARMERS’ MARKET WEEK
When it comes to taste and nutrition, fresher really is better. Fresher produce retains more nutrients than produce that travels long distances or sits on a truck or rail car for hours or even days, and nothing says “fresh” like buying it from the farmer who grew it and picked it him or herself. This program offers an effective and unique approach to improving parent-teen interaction. Parents will learn to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts and discuss such difficult topics as violence, drugs, alcohol and sex. The information and skills taught are designed to help you guide your children through the challenging teen years and develop responsible, cooperative teens who are better equipped to resist peer pressure.

Its Back to School time again!
It's time to get ready for Back-to-School! More than 9 million children are living without health insurance. Now that health reform has passed, we must continue enrolling kids into programs such as the State Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) and Medicaid to give parents the peace of mind that they can get care for their kids when they need it. Here are some ways to get involved, go to http://covertheuninsured.org/

Many folks are new to thisprogram, may want updates, or may be seeking information about how to become further involved in promoting the service. I will be hosting a webinar next Friday, August 6th at 2:00pm EST for all interested parties in the state of VA (please note: this will be VA-specific since we have funding to assist in VA promotional efforts).
